Terms of Service
The plain version of what you agree to when you download and use DNM. No traps, and no fine print written to confuse you.
These terms (the Terms) govern your access to and use of Document Naming Manager (DNM): the software, the getdnm.com website, licensing and activation, the 14-day free trial, downloads, paid plans, and support provided by Falcrex Systems Inc (Falcrex, we, us, or our). By downloading, installing, purchasing, or using DNM, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use DNM. Installing the software also requires you to accept the DNM End User License Agreement (the EULA), which is shown to you during installation. If the EULA and these Terms conflict about how the software itself may be used, the EULA controls on that point. A related document, the Privacy Policy, explains how we handle the limited information we collect.
Related policies: Privacy Policy and the Refund policy (part of these Terms).
Try DNM free for 14 days. To keep using it after that, you buy a license.
After the trial, DNM is 10 dollars per month, 100 dollars per year, or 200 dollars for a lifetime license, with payments handled by Paddle as the Merchant of Record.
DNM is provided as is, and it runs on Windows 10 and 11 only.
It renames files in place, so keep your own backups. The Recovery Vault is an undo, not a backup replacement.
Falcrex Systems Inc makes DNM, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Scope
These Terms apply to:
- purchases, subscriptions, and the 14-day free trial of DNM;
- software licensing and activation;
- downloads, support, and update-related services;
- billing, renewals, cancellations, and account administration;
- the getdnm.com website and checkout-related interactions; and
- related services or offerings that reference these Terms.
Eligibility and authority
You represent and warrant that:
- you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction;
- you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms; and
- if you are acting for a company, employer, or other entity, you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
If you use DNM on behalf of an organization, you includes both you and that organization.
Accounts, access, and your responsibility
DNM does not require a separate password-protected account to rename files. Your license is tied to the email address you buy with, and your license key activates the paid version. You are responsible for:
- providing accurate purchase and billing information;
- keeping your license key and the device it runs on reasonably secure;
- all activity carried out under your license, except where prohibited by law; and
- using DNM in line with applicable law and these Terms.
Tell us promptly if you believe your license key has been shared, lost, or misused.
Orders, plans, and subscriptions
DNM is offered on a subscription basis, monthly or annual, and as a one-time lifetime license, after a free trial. A lifetime license is a one-time purchase that includes all current and future versions of DNM, including major upgrades, new features and security fixes. No additional license purchase is required for a new major version. Monthly and annual subscriptions may be active on up to two computers per seat at a time; a lifetime license on one computer per seat. To move an active paid license to another computer, connect to the internet, click Licensed in DNM on the old computer, choose Deactivate and confirm. Once deactivation succeeds, enter the same license key in DNM on the new computer. Your plan’s activation limit still applies. If you cannot access the old computer or deactivation fails, contact support@falcrex.com. Your rights to access the paid features depend on the plan you selected, the subscription term, your payment status, and your compliance with these Terms. We may change plan names, packaging, features, or pricing for future purchases or renewals, subject to applicable law and any separate written commitment.
The 14-day free trial
DNM offers a 14-day free trial that does not require a credit card, so you can decide whether it fits your workflow. When the trial ends, paid features stop until you buy and activate a license. We may change the length or terms of the trial, or limit trials per user or organization, to prevent abuse. The trial is provided on the same as is basis as the paid product.
Payments, billing, taxes, and refunds
You agree to pay all applicable fees, charges, and taxes for your purchase or subscription. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Your transaction is also subject to Paddle's Buyer Terms, privacy policy, and Refund Policy. Falcrex provides DNM product and licensing support. For purchases made through Paddle, you authorize Paddle to charge your payment method for subscription fees, renewals, applicable taxes, and any upgrades you authorize. Unless stated otherwise at checkout or required by law, fees are exclusive of taxes. Nothing in this summary limits your mandatory consumer rights or any additional rights we provide. The version of Paddle's Refund Policy in effect at the time of your transaction applies to that transaction. For billing, withdrawal, or refund requests, use the support link in your Paddle receipt or visit Paddle buyer support. The free 14-day trial needs no credit card, so you can evaluate DNM before you commit. Falcrex does not receive or store your full payment-card numbers, and you are responsible for keeping your billing information accurate and current.
Refunds. Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record, handles refund requests. You may request a discretionary refund within 14 days of purchase through your Paddle receipt or Paddle buyer support; approval is not guaranteed. The version of Paddle’s Refund Policy in effect at your transaction applies, alongside your mandatory consumer rights and any additional rights we expressly provide. Withdrawal rights and their application to renewal charges vary by jurisdiction. Where a digital-content withdrawal right can be waived, the legally required express consent and acknowledgment must be obtained before downloading or using the content begins. A product with a material defect we cannot fix is refundable in every region. Nothing here limits remedies required by law.

Renewals, cancellations, and changes
If your subscription renews automatically, it renews for the applicable term unless you cancel before the renewal date. Manage your subscription, view invoices, update payment details, or request cancellation in the Paddle customer portal. Cancelling stops future renewal charges and takes effect at the end of the current billing period. It does not automatically refund charges already incurred; refund and withdrawal rights are described above. Contact support@falcrex.com for assistance or for a change that is not available in the portal. Any available plan change may take effect immediately or at the end of the current billing period, as described at the time of the change. A lifetime license is a one-time purchase and does not renew.
Software license and use restrictions
Subject to these Terms and your payment of any applicable fees, Falcrex grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use DNM on Windows computers for your own file-naming purposes. This is a license, not a sale of the software, and Falcrex retains all right, title, and interest in DNM. You may not:
- use DNM beyond the scope you purchased or were authorized to use;
- resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute DNM except as expressly authorized in writing;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, except where applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction;
- interfere with DNM's licensing, activation, update, or security features;
- use DNM to alter file names in a way intended to deceive, falsify records, or obstruct a legal or regulatory process; or
- use DNM on files or systems you do not have permission to read and write, or in any way that violates the law.
Your files
You remain solely responsible for the files you rename and the results of renaming them, and you represent that you have the rights and authority needed to rename those files. Because DNM runs on your own computer, your files, their names, and the folders they live in stay on your machine; Falcrex does not receive, store, or take ownership of them. Network connections are used for license activation, periodic license verification, and update checks, as described in the Privacy Policy. DNM is a renaming tool, not a backup, so keep your own backups.
Support and updates
Support is provided by the team that builds DNM, by the contact form and email, and is described on the support page and in the Support and Updates Policy. Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, we do not guarantee a particular support response or resolution time, that any specific feature will remain available forever, or that every update will be backward compatible with every workflow. We may offer updates from time to time to improve DNM.
Third-party services and components
DNM relies on a small, named set of outside providers and components, each for a clear purpose. Paddle processes payments and acts as the Merchant of Record. Cloudflare serves the DNM installer download. DNM runs on Microsoft Windows and checks file path lengths against common Microsoft 365 limits, which is DNM's own check and not a Microsoft certification. These third parties operate under their own terms, licenses, and privacy policies. Falcrex is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft, and is not responsible for third-party outages or policy changes outside its reasonable control.
Privacy
Your use of DNM is also subject to the Privacy Policy, which explains the limited information Falcrex collects and confirms that your files, their names, and folders never leave your machine.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your license if you materially breach these Terms, if required fees remain unpaid, if your payment method fails and you do not resolve it, or if we reasonably suspect fraud, misuse, or unlawful activity. You may stop using DNM at any time; if you hold a subscription, cancel before the next renewal to stop future charges. Termination does not relieve you of payment obligations already incurred. Because DNM runs locally, ending a license does not delete your files or your renaming history, which remain on your machine under your control.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DNM is provided as is and as available. Falcrex disclaims all warranties and conditions, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that DNM will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every suggested name will suit your needs, or that the Recovery Vault will restore every prior name in every situation. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Falcrex and its directors, officers, staff, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or related to DNM or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, the total liability of Falcrex arising out of or relating to DNM or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for DNM in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Falcrex and its directors, officers, and staff from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of DNM, the files you rename, your breach of these Terms or applicable law, or your use of DNM on files or systems you were not authorized to access.
Changes to DNM or these Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of DNM at any time, subject to applicable law. We may also update these Terms from time to time, posting the revised version with a new Last Updated date on getdnm.com. If a change is significant, we will make a reasonable effort to flag it. Your continued use of DNM after the revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or DNM will be brought exclusively in the courts located in British Columbia, Canada, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Entire agreement and severability
These Terms, together with the EULA you accept at installation, the Privacy Policy, and any order details from Paddle, are the entire agreement between you and Falcrex about DNM and supersede any earlier understanding on that subject. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect, and the unenforceable part is limited or removed only to the smallest extent needed. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
